Power Network Tycoon, the power grid simulation game from David Made This, received patch v1.0.002 on 18 October 2026. The patch arrives less than three weeks after the game's 1.0 release on 30 September. Its headline addition is a rare tsunami event, and it also makes underground connections easier to follow, doubles the time before connection penalties apply and fixes a list of bugs.
A Rare Tsunami Event
The patch adds a tsunami event. The patch notes describe it as a "very rare event but very destructive and cool to watch".
Cyclones, another of the game's weather events, have changed too. They no longer destroy buildings that belong to active missions, although they can still cut the power to those buildings.

Clearer Views of the Network
Several additions help players see how their grid is connected:
- A new visual shows the low voltage underground path between loads and their substation, capacitor banks and their substation, renewables and their inverter, and each inverter and its energy hub substation (EHS).
- Hovering over a substation now shows each connected load's power draw as text above the load.
- The Load Connect window has a new button that shows where the load is.

EMF Shielding, Earthing and Other Fixes
In the EMF shielding setup, clicking a shield now removes it, and the shielding material now scales correctly. A pricing fix makes the spacing choice for ground (earth) rods free, as intended. The time before a connection penalty applies has also been doubled.
Other fixes cover:
- building lights that could stay on after a substation failed, a rare case
- an info popup that could appear with no information in it
- a tick symbol that stayed visible above loads and capacitor banks
- general UI improvements and tweaks

Keyboard, Mouse and Controllers
Players using a keyboard and mouse while a gamepad, steering wheel or other input device was also connected could get input from both at the same time. One symptom was UI scroll bars drifting on their own. Choosing keyboard and mouse now turns on the "ignore gamepad" option in the settings menu, which the patch notes say players may not have known existed.
A Follow-Up Update on 24 October
A smaller update followed on 24 October. It brought major improvements to the game's translations, fixed some text that was stuck in English, and added optional voiced tutorials using text-to-speech.
