The latest patch for Power Network Tycoon, version v0.9.006a, introduces several targeted improvements focused on analytics, performance, and UI clarity. This update refines the player experience without overhauling core mechanics.
Enhanced Power Study Tools
Two new graphs have been added to the power study tool. Players can now visualize power generation versus power demand, alongside a graph showing the percentage of power derived from renewable sources. These additions provide clearer insights into grid efficiency and sustainability.
Community Satisfaction Color Coding
Community Satisfaction now features color indicators tied to background code logic. A satisfaction level below 50% displays red, which significantly slows city growth. Reaching 99% or higher turns the indicator green, greatly accelerating city growth. This visual feedback encourages players to maintain high satisfaction.
Performance Improvements for Window Lighting
Window lighting has been optimized to reduce performance overhead. The update introduces an intermediate lighting transition where entire buildings switch at once, rather than individual windows. This reduces the number of steps needed during dawn and dusk cycles. The ultra graphics setting remains the only option that uses per-window switching.
Default FPS Adjustment
The default frame rate has been changed from Unlimited to 60 FPS. This adjustment aims to reduce unnecessary frame generation, which can cause excess heat, particularly in menus. Players can still adjust this setting manually if desired.
